Here’s an example of one of the daily devotions:

“…if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it” (James 1:25).

 

The Word of God is the “perfect law that sets you free.” Actually, it says it’s “the liberty.” It’s emphasizing the liberating influence and power of the Word of God. A lot of times people say, “Don’t talk to me about the Bible. I don’t want to cramp my style. I want to do what I want to do. Don’t get me tied up in rules and regulations.”

 

That’s not what the Bible is all about. For one thing, when you are following Christ and Jesus is on the inside of your heart, you are in a love-relationship with Him. It’s like being married. You don’t say, “Well, I can’t date anyone else now. I can’t go out with anyone else. I have to dress the way he or she likes me to dress now. I have to go to this restaurant now because that’s the food they like!” Why are these things non-issues? What makes all the difference is love and commitment. Love and commitment are the motivation of our relationship with Jesus.

 

Take some time and renew your commitment to the Lord. Renew your vows to love and serve Him.
